For our US guests traveling to Ireland, a valid US passport is key; no visa is needed for 90 days. Please ensure your passport is valid for 3 months past your final departure date.
For our US guests who plan on traveling to the North of Ireland and the UK, all visitors are required to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). This is an additional step for those planning to visit Ireland and who wish to travel to the North of Ireland as well. This does not apply to visitors to Ireland who are not including the North of Ireland or the UK in their itinerary.
The ETA must be applied for online before traveling to the North of Ireland. It’s a quick and simple process, and approval will be linked directly to your passport.

For our American guests who decide to rent a car, please be aware Ireland drives on the opposite side of the road. In addition, make sure to rent an automatic vehicle as manual is the standard and the smaller the vehicle the better as the roads are more narrow than the US!
